Editorial policy

Last updated 4 September 2026. How we write guides and explainers: concrete claims, named sources where they matter, and a simple corrections path.

Standards in one glance

  • Describe what our games actually do — not what a paid casino might do
  • Prefer primary rules and public references over rumour
  • Fix verified errors and note the date when substance changes
How guides are produced

From draft to published page

  1. Play and inspect. For game pages, we check the live rules, paytables and controls against the build on this site.
  2. Write in British English. Claims stay concrete. We avoid filler promises and we do not frame free play as training for real-money gambling.
  3. Separate opinion from fact. Mood recommendations and theme notes are labelled as such; rule statements should match the software.

Sources

When we explain general formats (for example baccarat third-card charts or Jacks or Better hand ranks), we lean on widely published standard rules and then confirm how our free version implements them. Help organisation details (helpline numbers, service names) are checked against the organisation’s own site before we link.

We do not invent company registration numbers, office addresses or staff biographies. If a detail is not public on this site, we do not fabricate it for authority.

Did you know

Editorial pages on a social casino site still need a freshness habit. Rules inside our games can change when we ship an update; guides that describe those rules are re-checked on a cadence, not left to age quietly.

Cadence

Re-check schedule

Content re-check cadence
Content type Target cadence
Game how-to and paytables When the game build changes, and at least every 6 months
Beginner and explainer guides Every 6–12 months, or sooner after a reader correction
Help links and helpline numbers Every 3 months
Legal pages (privacy, cookies, terms) When practice changes, with the date updated on the page

Corrections

If you spot a factual error, email team@ukgameparlour.com with the URL and the incorrect sentence. We verify against the live game or source, edit the page when the error is confirmed, and keep a short public note of the process on the corrections page. We do not silently leave known rule mismatches in place.

Independence

Editorial copy is not paid placement for real-money operators. UK Game Parlour does not take deposits and does not earn commission from gambling stakes. The letters “UK” in the brand are not a claim of regulatory status.
